Squaring Off

I work everywhere. Couch. Desk. Chair. Wondering how my fellow artists organize their workspace?

Destined for the Red Cross.
Today I am preparing squares for a new knitted blanket. I almost have two ready to go! Just need to weave in the ends and crochet, with a contrast color, the edges. These will go to the Red Cross of Carmel and will be distributed locally through their 'Angel Project.'
We're always looking for knitters to join; it's lots of fun and, you might be surprised to learn that there is a big need for knitted items here on the Monterey Peninsula--including Big Sur. (A side benefit: There's always a platter of homemade goodies to greet us!)
Often times, other knitters in the group give me their squares to incorporate into a new blanket (I've volunteered to put the blankets together). The squares come to me in all condition. Some squares might need a little attention because the knitting might be too loose (I've had to take them apart and re-knit). Other times, they are well done. Nothing goes to waste in my workshop. I feel wonderful being able to use everyone's contributions--and to think about the young recipient who will stay warm.
