Everyday I look outside, and think, "How lucky I am!"
I studied
textile design in Zurich, Switzerland under Johannes Itten of the Bauhaus. This one-of-a-kind training opened up my world--from designing fabrics for French fashion houses, to working as a floral designer for American Greeting Cards and creating China patterns
for Mikasa. Color is
everything. It is the most vital, transforming element in my compass, more so than
subject matter or form. Color challenges and excites. And searching for just
the right amalgams—bold or subtle—takes a musing (and sometimes amusing) course. When
those elusive colors do magically collide...it's a golden moment. Born near
Avignon, France and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, I am so fortunate to live in some of the world’s most beautiful places--and inspiration sources. This has never been more
true than here in Carmel Valley, California, where I've made my home for the past 35 years.

By the lake, just outside of Zurich. A fond visit with a fellow textile school alum. |
